Muktinath is a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists located at an altitude of 3,710 meters at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass (part of the Himalayas) in Mustang, Nepal.
It’s an area rich with history, religious significance, diversity and culture. Thousands of visitors travel to Muktinath each year to pay homage, visit the temples, see the eternal flame and to cleanse themselves in the famous Chuming Gyatsa, while surrounded by the magnificent of the Himalayas.
It is approximately 110 Km from Pokhara and 20 kms northeast of Jomsom and is the gate way to Mustang from Manang when doing the famous Annapurana trekking circuit.
Getting to Muktinath is both challenging and rewarding. The sight of the impressive Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges will enchant you as you approach towards Pokhara Valley by air or surface.
